Getting Here

The house is located 1 km south of the village of Dominical. Dominical is a small fishing village and the gateway to the Osa Canton. This region is characterized by soaring mountains covered by jungle meeting the Pacific Ocean. Unlike the northern Pacific coast of Costa Rica with its tropical dry forests, the Dominical area has tropical wet forests or rain forests. The Osa canton is sparsely populated and the last region in Costa Rica to be settled.

Getting to Dominical

Getting to dominical is not difficult.
Dominical is 140 km (85 miles) south / southwest of the international airport in San Jose and 35 km west of San Isidro, a mountain city of 85,000 people. There are three ways to get to Dominical:

1. Reserve and pick-up rental vehicles at the airport in San Jose and drive to Dominical 3.5 hours driving time is needed to getting to dominical.

2. Have a driver in his tourism van meet your flight in San Jose and deliver you to Dominical. He drive from San Jose to Dominical is spectacular. Leaving San Jose and the Central Valley at 3500 ft, the Pan American Highway climbs rapidly to 11,000 ft before descending rapidly to seal level at Dominical.

3. Take an intra-country flight from San Jose to either Quepos or Palmar Norte (20 minute flight), pick up rental vehicles and drive to Dominical (50 minutes).

Directions to the Dominical Vacations Rental House

The house is 1 km south of the village of Dominical. Proceed south across the bridge over the Rio Baru on the Costanera Sur (Coastal Highway). After 1 km, on the left hand side of the road, you will see a sign marked "Ayacucho". Turn left at sign onto road, ascend 200 ft to large rock in middle of road, bear left, ascend 100 ft, you will see large house surrounded by brown concrete walls, drive along wall to entrance gate, turn and enter property.
